Getting To the Whitsundays

Domestic airlines Jetstar and Virginblue have daily flights from all major cities into the Whitsunday Coast airport at Proserpine and the Great Barrier Reef airport at Hamilton Island . Qantas has a daily flight from Cairns to Hamilton Island and return.

From Whitsunday Coast Airport, Proserpine
An air-conditioned shuttle bus transfer service is available from Proserpine airport to the Barefoot Cruises docking point at Abel Point marina Airlie Beach, which can be booked on the following site http://www.whitsundayshuttle.com.au/transfers.htm. The cost is $15 for an adult one way and $28 for an adult return. Transfer time is approximately 45 minutes to Airlie Beach. Taxis are also available - the price is approximately $70.00 and takes approximately 30 minutes.

From Great Barrier Reef Airport, Hamilton Island
There are ferry services to the Barefoot Cruises docking point at Abel Point marina in Airlie Beach, from Hamilton Island by Cruise Whitsundays. You can view timetable at http://www.cruisewhitsundays.com/resort_flighttimetable.aspx#HTI. The price is $60 (Includes Airport levy) one way. Cruise Whitsunday ferry must be pre booked at least 24 hrs prior to arrival. If you need assistance with this please ask us.

From Shute Harbour
Taxis are available from Shute Harbour to Airlie Beach.

Where to Board
Follow the road at Abel Point marina to the only roundabaout and wait near the red Post Box.
